Reducing CO2 emissions by financing sustainable projects
Croatian REFINE partner, REGEA, presented how the refinancing concept can be used to contribute to climate targets and speed up the energy transition during the panel on Reducing CO2 emissions by financing sustainable projects that was organised within the Central Conference on Sustainable Construction in Zagreb, Croatia.
The Central Conference on Sustainable Construction is organised annually by the Croatian branch of the Green Building Coun
cil and gathers professionals working in sectors such as sustainable construction, green economy and mobility.
The panel Reducing CO2 emissions by financing sustainable projects touched upon the impact of the EU Taxonomy on the economy and the expected increased influx of sustainable projects. The refinancing concept was presented as a possibility for financial institutions to expand their green portfolio with investments in energy efficiency projects without taking over the technical and operational risks of such projects.
